Today, I’m just thankful for the functionality of Facebook events. Do you remember what organizing parties was like BF (Before Facebook)? You had to literally create an invitation in Publisher, print and fold it, or go to Party City and buy a package of 10 and hand write each one. No more! Now you create an event and invite everyone you know in a matter of minutes. And they are already on Facebook anyway, so they click a button and you know how much beer to buy.
Such a first world convenience. Thank you Facebook events!
Day 6: I am thankful for the block feature.
If a frienemy over-tweets, you don’t want to see the wedding photos of your ex on facebook, or you have no desire to test the latest in erectile dysfunction medication, block can be your best friend.
Is it delusional to pretend something isn’t there that actually is? Maybe. But if I’m given the easy way out, why take the difficult way?
Now, if only AT&T would drop the $5/month charge for blocking a number – then I could go completely Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Until then, I’m thankful for what I’ve got. Thanks Twitter, Facebook and G+ for that wonderful little “block” button.
